Brahmas shut out Marion in initial scrimmage

The Hallettsville Brahmas shut out Marion three nothing in their first scrimmage here Friday evening.

Halfback Tradyn Williams scored on a 26-yard run, quarterback Wyatt Kram threw a 3-yard scoring pass to Carter Blaha and halfback Chaseton Ford scored on a 31-yard run.

The Brahmas dominated the line of scrimmage and the Bulldogs never got past the 50- yard line.

“I thought we did pretty good. I wanted to see a physical nature in our team which we did,” head coach Levi Montgomery said. “Defensively, we were very aggressive running the football.”

Hallettsville goes to Giddings Thursday for its final tune-up with the JV starting at 5:30.

The Buffaloes are picked to finish fourth in District 11-4A, Division II.

The Buffs are in a killer district with Bellville, Madisonville, Sealy, La Grange and Caldwell.

Giddings returned 8/6 starters from a 3-8 team.

The Brahmas visit Shiner Friday, Aug. 30 in the season opener.
