Brahmas win 3rd straight
Hallettsville registered its third straight District 25-AAA victory with a 49- 38 verdict over Palacios here Friday night.
The Brahmas played down to the competition and trailed 16-10 at the end of the first quarter and 24-21 at the half before a 13-7 third period put them over the hump.
Dougie Mundine and Monte Thigpen scored 13 and 12 respectively for the Brahmas who advanced to 16-16 and 8-5.
The Brahmas played in Edna Tuesday and are currently in fourth place in 25-AAA.
The Brahmas were 7 of 13 from the foul line.

Brahma 51, Tidehaven 43
The Brahmas beat Tidehaven here Tuesday, Feb. 6, 51-43.
The Brahmas held a halftime lead of 30-18 before the Tigers cut the gap to 40-32 entering the fourth quarter.
The Brahmas opened the fourth period with a basket by Jorian Wilson and a two plus one by Nathan Henke to get the margin up to 10 points. The Tigers would not go away and scored 6 consecutive points to get within 4 points before they scored the final 4 points of the game.
No Brahma was in double figures. Kale Russell scored a game-high 11 points for the Tigers.
The Brahmas shot just 5 free throws in the game and made 4 while the Tigers were 6 of 10.
