Despite Loss to Cobras, HB Still Has a Pulse
Despite losing three of its last four games, the Hallettsville Brahmas still have a pulse.
The Brahmas hosted Columbus Tuesday night and a win would tie them for first in District 25-AAA and earn the top seed in the playoffs.
The Brahmas fell to Industrial 8-3 Friday night, but broke a string of 13 consecutive scoreless innings.
Two Brahma pitchers allowed 6 walks, threw 5 wild pitches and hit 5 batters.
The Cobras (14-7, 9-4) got a fine pitching performance from lefty Aiden Baker who went 6-plus innings before running into trouble in the seventh when Hallettsville scored its three runs.
Andrew George led off the seventh with a base on balls and moved to second on a single to right center by Josh Griffin. George scored on a base hit by Carter Blaha. Griffin came in on a wild pitch and a fielder’s choice by Brock Bludau scored the final run.
The Brahmas had only 5 hits to Industrial’s 7.
Monte Thigpen and Jorian Wilson both doubled for the Brahmas.
