Gold rush

SEGUIN – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas and Brahmas combined for four gold medals at the Class 3A Region IV Track and Field Meet at Seguin High School Thursday and Friday at Seguin High School.

The top two finishers will advance to the state meet May 1 in Austin.

Danna Jansky paced the LB with two first place finishes. She set a personal best in the shot put with a heave of 39 feet 7 inches and won the discus with a toss of 126 feet, 4.75 inches.

The Brahmas totaled 66 points in the meet and finished second behind Edna.

Despite losing three members of the 100 relay from last year, the Brahmas won first place with a time of 41.91 seconds.

The foursome is composed of Mycole Pegoda, Caden Willis, Colt Edmonds and Shane Migura.

Edmonds won the 200 in 22.25 seconds and was third in the 100 with a 10.82 seconds.

Migura was second in the 100 with a time of 10.62 seconds and Edmonds third at 10.82.

Aiden Drozd flung the discus 165 ft, 8 inches for second place and was third in the shot with a best of 51 feet one inch.

Willis skimmed the 110-meter hurdles in 14.19 seconds for second place.
