Lady Brahmas rout Edna, Yoakum

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas continued their run through District 25- AAA with two more victories last week.

Run-rule games were prevalent for the Lady Brahmas in the victories over Yoakum (22-3) and Edna (10-0) last week.

Grace Halata (6-1) blanked Edna with no hits here Wednesday, March 13.

Halata struck out 14 of the 15 batters she faced and the lone hiccup was a leadoff walk in the top of the first inning.

Ella Amsden got the LB started in the second inning with an inside-thepark home run, her second of the year.

A four-run third saw doubles by Hanna Zachary and Macie Jansky scoring runs and Amsden and Kaylie Olivarez knocked in a run apiece.

Hallettsville (22-2, 5-0) put the game away with four runs in the fifth inning. Olivarez led off with a triple, Amsden was hit by a pitch and Carson Jansky singled to fill the bases. Halata sent all three home with a triple to left center and scored on another three-bagger by Madison Mikes.

Hallettsville had 11 hits with Macie Jansky and Amsden collecting two apiece.

Hallettsville pulverized Yoakum in Yoakum Tuesday, March 12.

Kaylie Olivarez (9-1) gave up three unearned runs, four hits,walked two and struck out five in the three-inning game.

The LB amassed 11 hits in the contest.
