Lady Brahmas thrash Rice Consolidated
After Hallettsville lost to Edna three days prior, Altair Rice Consolidated was the recipient of the Lady Brahmas’ wrath.
The LB took a 72-26 victory in a 25-AAA game here Friday night.
The LB started out slow with 5-for-12 field goal shooting, but forced 12 Rice turnovers in taking a 15-4 lead at the end of the first quarter. Kasey Harper buried three, threes in the second period and scored 13 points.
The second period saw Hallettsville shoot 68.9% from the field in taking a 46-13 lead at halftime.
Four players were in double digits with Harper scoring 16 points. She was followed by freshman Addison Matula with 13 points, Layten Kolacny had 12 and Macy Herring 11.

Debacle in Edna
Win at home, take your chances on the road.
The LB were drummed by the Edna Cowgirls, 58-31, in Edna Tuesday, December 12.
Not a single player scored in double figures for Hallettsville and only five scored. Meanwhile, Edna had three players in double digits with Shanti Guerra scoring a gamehigh 16 points.
Edna led 9-8 at the end of the first quarter, but started taking command of the game with a 17-6 second period en route to a 27-15 halftime advantage.
Guerra’s best was the final two quarters when she knocked down 10 of here 16 points.
Layten Kolacny had 8 points for the LB, who dropped to 15-4 and 2-1.
