LB sweeps Kitty Cats, 3-0

Hallettsville moved to 12-14 on the season after its 3-0 sweep of Yorktown (25-22,25-15, 25-21) here Friday evening.

The LB had a 12-5 lead in the first set before the Kitty Cats went on a 10-2 run to take a 15-14 lead. Yorktown went up 18-17 prior the LB taking the lead for good with a kill by Christine Felcman, an ace by Addison Matula and a lift violation and were never headed on the way to a 25-22 win.

Yorktown hung tough in the second set and trailed by just one point at 15-14 before the LB outscored the Kitty Cats 10-1 the rest of the way.

Two aces by Hanna Zachary and two kills by Kenedy Wood one each by Jans Henke and Haven Drozd sealed the 25-15 win. Yorktown hung tough in the third set and led 20-17 prior to Hallettsville going on a 6-0 binge thanks to four Kitty Cat attack errors and an ace by Matula in the 25-21 win.

Matula ended up with 3 aces, Wood had 2, and Caitlynn Halata 1. Kasey Harper and Wood had 8 kills each and Drozd 6.
