The Hallettsville Brahmas swept Yoakum in District 25-AAA play last week.In the game here Friday night, Konnor Kopecky and Andrew George combined for a no-hitter in a 7-0 victory.Brahmas 13, Yoakum 1The Brahmas were all over Yoakum in the district opener Tuesday, March 11 in Yoakum.

Navarro wins Jimmy Appelt Tourney

The Geronimo Navarro Panthers won the 18th Annual Jimmy Appelt Tournament held over the weekend.The Panthers had the same record as Hallettsville at 3-1 but won the tournament by virtue of a 2-1 victory over the Brahmas Friday night.

The Hallettsville Brahmas swept Goliad in a doubleheader here Monday night.The Brahmas (3-0) took the nightcap, 8-0, after brilliant pitching by Brock Bludau and Connor Kopecky.Bludau worked the first three innings and ceded one hit, walked two with five strikeouts.

Hudson Chenard gave up no hits in three innings of work in the Hallettsville Brahmas’ 11-1 season-opening victory over Shiner here Tuesday, Feb. 18. The game was halted by rain in the fourth inning.Chenard faced the minimum of nine batters and recorded three strikeouts.

The Hallettsville Brahmas couldn’t keep up with Yoakum with the Bulldogs posting a 52-38 victory in a District 25-AAA game here Friday night.Yoakum led 11-9 at the end of the first period and the lead grew to 24-15 at the half.
