If you are into offense, the Hallettsville-Gonzales game here Friday night was not the one to see.A team will take a win, no matter if it’s pretty or ugly.The case was the latter for the Hallettsville Brahmas who pulled out a 14-7 victory over the Apaches.

Brahmas shut out Marion in initial scrimmage

The Hallettsville Brahmas shut out Marion three nothing in their first scrimmage here Friday evening.Halfback Tradyn Williams scored on a 26-yard run, quarterback Wyatt Kram threw a 3-yard scoring pass to Carter Blaha and halfback Chaseton Ford scored on a 31-yard run.

Brahmas host Bulldogs

The Hallettsville Brahmas host Marion in the first scrimmage here Friday beginning with the JV starting at 5:00.Marion picked third in District 13-AAA Division I, which also houses University City Randolph, Llano, Ingram Moore, Luling and Florence.

Brahmas have 65 in camp

The Hallettsville Brahmas had 65 players report for the first day of practice Monday evening. The number last year was 70.“I was very pleased with the older guys who showed up in shape,” head coach Levi Montgomery said. “A good number of our kids worked hard in the summer and it showed.

Practice for fall sports begins Monday

The Hallettsville Brahmas begin workouts for the 2024 season Monday and coach Levi Montgomery expects 65 or so kids.The Brahmas will work out from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, Tuesday Aug. 6 from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

End of the road for Brahmas in 9-7 loss to Cobras

KARNES CITY –The Hallettsville Brahmas just simply ran out of ammunition.The Brahmas succumbed to Vanderbilt Industrial, 9-7, at Curtis Perkins Field Friday night in the third round of the playoffs.The Brahmas made a tremendous comeback after trailing 5-0 and 9-3.

Brahmas defeat Lytle, 7-3

KARNES CITY – Hallettsville seemed headed for a runrule game with Lytle after leading 7-0 in its area round playoff contest.But things got a little dicey after Lytle rallied for three runs in the sixth inning before the Brahmas held on for a 7-3 victory at Perkins Field Friday night.

Brahmas win first-ever state track championship

Who would have thunk it! The Hallettsville Brahmas went to the UIL State Track and Field Championships Thursday at Mike A. Myers Stadium with just four athletes and shared a state championship with Yoakum with each scoring 36 points.

AUSTIN – The Hallettsville Brahmas ended up 10th at the UIL State Golf Championships at Grey Rock Golf Club Tuesday, April 30.The Brahmas shot 354-361-715. Brady Copley has been steady all season and carded an 80-80-160.
