USTIN – The Hallettsville Brahmas stood in seventh place after the first round of the UIL State Golf Tournament Monday at Grey Rock Golf Club.The Brahmas shot a team total of 354. Liberty led the pack with a 308, Bowie was second (319) and Brock third (320).

Brahmas send relay to state meet

SEGUIN –The Hallettsville Brahmas’ best wasn’t good enough at the Region IV-3A meet Friday and Saturday.The 4x200 relay finished second in 1:28.48 to qualify for state. The group was made up of Damarion Austin, Layne Gerke, Caden Willis and Rashaun Sidney.The Brahmas had three third place finishers.

Brahmas take over second place with 17-1 rout of Industrial

The Hallettsville Brahmas atoned for a 4-2 loss to Industrial in Vanderbilt March 26 with a 17-1 routing of the Cobras at The Hardball Field Friday night.The victory put the Brahmas (18-6, 10-3) in sole possession of second place in District 25-AAA.

Brahma golfers advance to Regional tournament

V I C TO R I A – Th e Hallettsville Brahmas didn’t play up to their potential in the District 25-AAA Tournament Monday and Tuesday April 8-9 at Riverside Golf Course, but nonetheless qualified for the 3A Regional IV tournament this week in San Antonio.The Brahmas finished second to Industrial.

Brahmas nip Edna, defeat Rice

The Hallettsville Brahmas began a threegame home stand with a 9-4 victory over Rice Consolidated in a District 25-AAA game here Friday night.Starter and winner Hudson Chenard (7-1) worked five innings and gave up six hits, two runs (one unearned) four walks and struck out six.
