The Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court met a day later than its usual Monday meeting date holding its regular meeting on Tuesday morning, Sept. 23.

Court adopts VA tax rate/ approves budget

The Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court met Monday morning and adopted the 2025 property tax rate going with the voter approval (VA) tax rate of .5497 per $100 valuation as well as approving the 2025-26 county budget. Both votes were done by a unanimous show of hands vote.

Court proposes tax rate

Lavaca County tax assessor-collector, Deborah A. Sevcik, presented the 2025 appraisal roll and tax rate calculations at Monday’s, Aug. 11, Commissioners’ Court meeting.Sevcik told the court the total appraised value showed an increase of 1.09% over last year’s values.
