Shiner golf:Shiner girls advance to state

The Shiner Lady Comanches golf team created some school history as they finished in second place at regionals April 17-18 in Corpus Christi and will be attending the state golf tournament for the first time in school history as a team.

Shiner softball: Vincik jack, defense sees LC earn big win against GHS

The Lady Comanches defeated Schulenburg and got redemption in a 1-0 win over Ganado after falling to the Maidens earlier in the season. Shiner 7, Schulenburg 2 The Lady Comanches scored three runs in the first inning and went on to a 7-2 win over Schulenburg April 11 at home to complete the sweep.

Shiner baseball: Comanches use 7-run inning to pull away from ‘Horns

Ahead just 3-2 going into the bottom of the third frame April 11 against Schulenburg, Shiner was patient and scored seven runs. They scored two more in the fifth to take a 12-2 win in five innings. The Comanches got 13 hits, led by Kaiden Boothe who was 3-for-3 with one run and three RBI.

Shiner track and field: Shiner girls, boys collect area championships

The Shiner girls and boys track team picked up the area titles at the 27/28-2A championship April 12 at Weimar. Top four in each event will compete in the regional meet in Kingsville April 28-29. Varsity Girls The Lady Comanches scored 188 points to win the meet.

Shiner girls basketball: Lenehan wins spot on THSCA Elite Team

Shiner Lady Comanche sophomore basketball player Morgan Lenehan was selected to the  Texas High School Coaches’ Association (THSCA) Girls Basketball Class 2A Super Elite Team. Lenehan helped the Lady Comanches win a bi-district championship and finish up as area-round finalists.

Shiner girls golf: LC edge Flatonia for district title

The Shiner Lady Comanches golf team won the district title last week at the district meet in Weimar, scoring 431 which also tied Flatonia. Shiner won in a sudden-death team playoff 25-26. Chelsea Whiddon scored a 104; Grace Migl had a 105; Megan Winkenwerder carded a 107.

Shiner softball:Lady Comanches get quicks wins vs Louise, Bloomington

The Lady Comanches softball team dominated both of its road district games last week. Shiner 27, Louise 1 The Lady Comanches scored a dozen runs in the top of the fourth to help deal a 27-1 loss to Louise.

Shiner track and field: Shiner gets double district championships

The Shiner track and field teams competed in the 28-2A meet April 4-5 in Ganado with both varsities taking the team championship. Event winners for the girls varsity was Jaleah Curtis in the 100-meter dash and the 400. Brinley Ramirez in 200, 300 hurdles, long jump and triple jump.

Shiner boys golf:Shiner boys third at district meet

The Shiner boys golf team  placed third in the district with a score of 405.  Ryan Peterson led with a 94 and Beck Bishop carded a 96. Micah Carson carded a 98. Cade Murrille recorded a 117 and Jackson Welch had a 125.Peterson and Bishop will attend regionals as individuals.
