Shiner Football: Comanches score twice against Burton, keep Panthers from scoring

The Shiner Comanches hosted Burton in their second and final scrimmage on Thursday evening. The scrimmage was cut short by several plays because of weather in the area.
The Comanches scored twice, one by each offensive group, and kept the Burton offense out of the end zone.

Juniors Aimee Mitchon and Rylee Vancura were named to the All-Tournament team.

Shiner played its first official match of the season as they split the Aug. 10 tri match at Yoakum against Gonzales and the Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Comanches took down Gonzales 3-1 (25-18, 25-16, 24-26, 25-20) and lost to Yoakum in four games, 25-17, 22-25, 25-12 and 25-19.

Shiner FFA officers returned recently from the 94th annual Texas FFA convention held at the historic Fort Worth Stockyard District, where student leaders from across Lavaca County and the Lone Star State spent an entire week of July 11-15 immersed in all things FFA.
