Shiner FFA steer validation will take place from 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Shiner Ag Barn.
This validation is mandatory for all students showing a steer at the Shiner FFA Livestock Show. All steers should be in your possession and halter-broken by this time.

Shiner Volleyball: Lady Comanches wins Silver bracket at Cuero Tournament

The Shiner volleyball team went 5-1 in the Cuero Tournament and got first place in the Silver bracket. Rylee Vancura was named to the All-Tournament team.

Hallettsville’s Damarion Austin’s 32-yard run with just 10 minutes left in the third quarter broke a 7-7 tie and was the difference in the Shiner Comanches falling a little short at Hallettsville, 14-7, to open the 2022 season.

St. Paul preferred a better outcome in their season opener, but a season does not ride on the first game.
The Flatonia Bulldogs muscled their way past St. Paul, through the air and the ground, and played solid defense in blanking the Cardinals 35-0 Friday night at Comanche Stadium.

Teena Davis says she couldn’t be happier back working with the patients she knows best, which might seem an odd thing to say for someone in her line of work.

Shiner Market Days officially moved past its 13th month last weekend, with a full lineup of kids games and activities, live entertainment all day and tons of vendors from all over Texas.
City lowers tax rate with 5-0 vote

Shiner city council spent little time Monday approving a tax rate decrease in the coming fiscal year, which runs, Jan. 1, 2023, to Dec. 31, of that same year.

St. Paul volleyball: Cowgirls hand St. Paul 3-0 loss

The Lady Comanches won back-to-back non district games in a four-set win over Edna Aug. 16 and over Sacred Heart at home on Aug. 23.
