Shiner girls golf: LC golf gets 8th at state

The Lady Comanches golf team placed eighth at the 2A state tournament early last week in Austin.Shiner shot 412 on the first day and 415 on the second day for a total of 827.Morgan Lenehan led the Lady Comanches with 95-102-197.

Shiner baseball: Comanches nine open playoffs with shutout sweep of AD

KENEDY —  The  Comanche baseball team secured the bi-district championship with a sweep of Agua Dulce 14-0 (Thursday) and 11-0 (Saturday) at the Larry Kiesling Sports Complex in Kenedy.Shiner ceded six hits and no runs in two games while scoring 12.5 runs a game and totaling 21 hits.

Shiner baseball: Shiner beats FHS 10-2 to claim district title

The Shiner Comanches baseball team secured the district title with a 10-2 win at Flatonia on April 22 to conclude the regular season.Shiner scored one run to start the game and took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third.The Bulldogs managed to tie the game at 2-2 in the fourth inning.

St Paul track and field: St. Paul girls place third at regional meet; boys get third

SEGUIN — The St. Paul girls track team got second place and the boys came in third Friday at the TAPPS 2A/3A south regional meet at Seguin ISD”s Matador Stadium.St. Paul will have 13 athletes at the state meet later this week in Waco.GirlsThe Lady Cardinals scored 107 points to take the team silver.
