Kolache Fest set for Sept. 30

The 28th annual Kolache Fest is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hallettsville.

Activities will begin on Friday evening, Sept. 29 with 42 Domino warm-up games being played at the hall beginning at 6:15 p.m.

Kolache Fest activities on Saturday will  start with the 5K Fun Run on the downtown Courthouse Square at 7:30 p.m. followed by the Kolache Fest Parade beginning at 10 a.m.

All other activities will shift to the hall with arts and crafts booths and food booths open throughout the day.

In addition, a BBQ cook-off will take place along with a pie contest, car show, cornhole tournament and many fun activities for the children as well.

Great music will be provided under the Biergarten Pavilion starting with the Czechaholics from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Dujka Brothers from 3 to 6 p.m. and Broken Alibi ending the night from 7 to 11 p.m.

The Hallettsville Chamber of Commerce welcomes the public to attend. It will be a fun day for all.
