Meet your queen, your 2023 Kolache Queen

Mrs. Annabeth Neumeyer

Annabeth Neumeyer is the daughter of the late Gene and Frances Valenta.  She has been married to Charlie Neumeyer for over 50 years.  She is the mom to three wonderful children and Grammy to four loving grandchildren.  Her hobbies are baking, traveling, fishing, and being with her grandkiddos.

Annabeth is originally from Sweet Home moving to Hallettsville when she was eight.  She graduated from Sacred Heart School and then moved to San Antonio, TX and attended Incarnate Word College receiving a BS in Music.  She graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University with a Masters in Education.  She taught at a private music academy for 10 years then moved into public education focusing on mathematics and administration.  After residing in San Antonio for over 30 years, Annabeth and her husband, Charlie, moved back to Hallettsville.  Although she retired from public education in 2009, she continued in the education field as a National Advisor for the University of Texas Dana Center Research Center and Agile Mind supporting mathematics teachers and campus/district leaders.  Currently, she and her husband are busy supporting the Hallettsville community through their involvement in the Sacred Heart Parish and Hallettsville Lions Club.

Annabeth is an avid home baker, baking mainly for their family and friends, local organizations, and church activities.  Each year, she bakes over 200 dozen kolaches for different events.  She loves cooking and baking and kolaches are on the top of her favorite to bake.

Come watch Annabeth demonstrate her kolache-making skills at this year’s Kolache Fest at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, inside the KC Hall.

 

IT'S KOLACHE FEST TIME IN HALLETTSVILLE!

Mark your calendars for the 28th Annual Kolache Fest on Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hallettsville.

On Sept. 29, the '42' Domino Friday Night Warm-Up will begin at 6:15 p.m.

On Saturday, the 5K Fun Run will start on the downtown square at 7:30 a.m. followed by the parade at 10 a.m.

There will be Arts & Crafts Booths, Food Booths, BBQ Cook-Off, Car Show, Cornhole Tournament, Pie Contest, Kolache Baking Demo, Kolache Eating Contest, lots of great music, and fun activities for the kids!

There will also be some great music under the Biergarten Pavilion starting with the Czechaholics from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Dujka Brothers from 3-6 p.m., and Broken Alibi will end the night from 7-11 p.m.
