The Sacred Heart Catholic School 5th graders recently participated in the St. Jude Math-A-Thon program and raised $2,358.25. The amount raised  goes toward helping kids who battle cancer and other deadly diseases. During the past years, the 5th grade classes have been involved in the program and have raised a total of over $14 thousand. 2023 Lavaca Roundup set for Sunday, March 26

The 2023 Lavaca Roundup (Show - Shine - Social)  is coming up on Sunday, March 26 from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the Lavaca County Courthouse Square.   It is open to all — Cars Trucks, Bikes, Boats, Tractors.  All donations will benefit the Lavaca County Relay for Life. 

Tri County Softball umpires will meet on Dec. 14

The Tri-County Softball Umpires meeting will be December 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hallettsville ISD Board Room. We are always looking for new members. Please consider coming to this meeting to learn more about becoming a certified high school softball official. You may also contact E.L.

Local artist hits homerun with new mural wall

Local artist Bob Barrera introduced a splash of color to downtown Hallettsville with a mural dedicated to the Houston Astros and their latest World Series Championship on the wall of his soon-to-be studio last week.
That red classic 1965 Ford Mustang under the wing of that bright yellow Piper Cub could be yours if you wind up being the lucky winner of the Hallettsville Barnstormers’ drawing. Only 2,000 tickets will be sold, with proceeds going to help fund scholarships to local graduates looking to the fields of aviation.

Hallettsville Fly-In takes off Oct. 1

The eighth annual Hallettsville Fly-In will soon be upon us once again, and the Texas Barnstorming Museum will once again play host as pilots from all over Texas take flight on Saturday, Oct. 1, to come and show their support of local high school graduates with a taste wild blue yonder.

Garden Club opts to depart its city park digs

After missed funding opportunities and apparent dragging of feet by the city by way of needed Garden Center structural repairs, Hallettsville Garden Club members came together Thursday, Aug. 18, to do something that most thought would never come to pass.
