Tips for being safe in school zones

As summer vacation comes to an end for students, the 2024-25 school year will beginning for area schools with some starting this week and the remainder next week.Whether a motorist, student or pedestrian, school zone safety is of utmost importance as the new school year starts.
It might look like a device that would blow bubbles or flash a few lights and make laser noises, but it’s hardly a plaything. It’s a pepper gun, the same used by local law enforcement. They can accurately target up to 50 feet away, stop the most determined of assailants, and they’re now in use at Moulton schools.

Moulton schools will soon have a new face around their campuses starting with the new school year, after trustees last month approved hiring an off-duty, uniformed Moulton police officer for the 2022-23 school year.
