Traffic stop near Flatonia results in arrest

Staff and Wire Reports In a recent news release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, information regarding a drug arrest was reported. On January 26, 2024, members of the Fayette County Undercover Narcotics Unit initiated a stop on a vehicle in the Flatonia area for a traffic violation.

Flatonia man charged with possession of a controlled substance

In a press release issued Jan. 25, the Fayette County Sheriff’s office reported that a man was arrested after fleeing capture from members of the Fayette County Undercover Narcotics Unit in the Flatonia area. During the pursuit, drugs were observed being tossed from the vehicle.

YHS students named to the All-State Band

The Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB) is pleased to announce the selection of the 2024 ATSSB All-State Band. More than 10,000 high school band students from across Texas auditioned in 22 different regions for a place in their respective all-region bands.

The Yoakum Area Chamber of Commerce (YACC) rolled out the red carpet on Jan. 25 to honor some of city’s most beloved citizens at the 106th annual Chamber banquet at the Yoakum Community Center. All in attendance enjoyed a Kentucky Derby-themed event.
