Sweet Home ISD donates to Sweety Home firemen

The Sweet Home School surprised local firefighters with a $2,000 donation to the Sweet Home Volunteer Fire Department. Students raised the funds by participating in a penny war fundraiser back in the fall.

Filing period form Lavaca County’s rural school boards opens Saturday

All three of Lavaca County’s smallest, most rural school districts will open their month-long filing period Saturday, July 23, for those who live within boundaries of their respective districts and have an interest in serving on their respective boards.
Miss Moulton Hope Kirkland, Junior Miss Alyssa Jasek, Little Miss Emma Henderson and Little Mister Ryan Koncaba make their way around the landmark SouthStar Bank corner in downtown Moulton as part of the 60th annual Jamboree Parade in 2021. Jamboree Week kicks off this weekend with the 2022 Miss Moulton Pageant, starting at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 23, at the Legion Hall.

Interstate 10 eastbound in Gonzales County came to a standstill for more than 11 hours after a fatal auto accident occurred just before noon, Wednesday, July 6. The accident reports began at 11:22 a.m. Wednesday near Waelder, reported Sgt.
