Hallettsville resident loses life in Lee County accident

A tragic traffic accident Friday night near Lake Somerville State Park claimed the life of Hallettsville resident, Darryl “Mo” Mozisek.According to a report from Texas Department of Public Safety trooper James McCoy, the accident took place on FM 180, near the intersection of FM 1697, in Lee County.

Man arrested for impersonating an officer

The Lavaca County Sheriff's office and the Hallettsville Police Department arrested a man Wednesday morning, Sept. 17 on several charges.According to a LCSO social media post, Trey Lynn Buckley of Schertz was taken into custody for impersonating a public servant.

City extends moratorium on manufactured homes

The City Council voted to extend a temporary moratorium on the placement of manufactured homes within city limits for another 90 days at the Sept. 9 meeting. This gives City staff more time to evaluate zoning regulations and minimum housing standards.
