Texas Sales Tax Holiday to be held this weekend

Texas families are expected to save an estimated $133.2 million in state and local sales taxes during this weekend’s sales tax holiday, which runs Friday, Aug. 8, through midnight Sunday, Aug. 10.That's according to a release sent out recently by acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock.

Moratorium remains in place for manufactured homes

The city has issued a temporary moratorium on the placement of manufactured homes while Yoakum city officials revisit zoning regulations and consider long-term guidelines for their future use.“We had a couple of locations that people made complaints about,” City Mayor Carl O’ Neill said.

Council approves grant resolutions

The Moulton City Council approved a couple of grant resolutions at the July 8 meeting.“These resolutions are part of our Texas Water Development Board project for the wastewater plant,” City Administrator LuAnn Rogers said.
