Robert James “Bobby” Buske, 76, originally of Shiner, died on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023, in Mansfield.  He was born on July 29, 1947 in Shiner, to Hertha Emilie Liebhafsky Buske and James Fertsch Buske.  His mother immigrated with her family from Austria as a baby.

Evelyn Marie Zapalac, 79, of Port Lavaca, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023.   She was born on November 30, 1943 in Shiner, to Jimmie and Marie (Janca) Knezek. Evelyn graduated from St. Joseph High School in Yoakum.

Amalia Agnes Kneifel, 94, of Pipe Creek, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023.    Amalia was born May 6, 1929, in DeWitt County to John and Francis Caka Zissa. Amalia married the love of her life on June 8, 1948, at St. Ann’s Catholic church and they moved to San Antonio.

Rita Mae Grahmann Kominczak, 72, of Houston, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday afternoon, July 26, 2023.   She was born in Hallettsville on July 9, 1951, to Alois and Lucille Grahmann. Rita married Larry Kominczak on April 5, 1975 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
