Jerome Stanley Pesek

Jerome Stanley Pesek, 85, of Hallettsville, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023.  He was born in the St. Mary’s Community on Aug. 9, 1937, to Charles and  Bohdanka Pesek.   He served in the United States Army for two years and was stationed at Ellison Air Force Base in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Anne Ridgely Rowbotham, 76, of Hallettsville passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023. She was born July 8, 1947 at St Joseph’s Hospital in Houston to George and Ann Humphries.

Rubie Allene Crandall, 89, of Hallettsville, passed away, Saturday, July 15, 2023; she was known as “Cookie” by all those who loved her.   She was born in Hallettsville on Sept. 29, 1933, to Jack and Nora Pohl Guthrie in Hallettsville.

Albert V. Kutac

YOAKUM: Albert V. Kutac, age 70, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023. He was born April 23, 1953 in Yoakum to Louis and Anna Marie Honc Kutac. He worked in bridge construction and owner of Corner Stop and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a graduate of St. Paul High School.

Leona Welfel

SHINER: Leona Hattie Welfel, age 92, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023. She was born August 24, 1930 in the Kokernot Community to Isidor and Kristina Bujnoch Jalufka. She worked at Trinity Lutheran Home for over 38 years. She was a member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church and K.J.Z.T.

Ronald “Ronnie” Joseph Juranek, 69, of Kingsville, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, surrounded by his wife, children, and loved ones. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday, July 10 at Shiner Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 11 at Sts.

Dennis Arthur ‘Pops’ Fabry

Dennis Arthur “Pops” Fabry, 76, of Hallettsville, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023 from an extended illness.   He was born on May 14, 1947, in Sault St. Marie, Michigan to Arthur and Shirley Fabry   On June 25, 1998 he married Becky Bush He has an honorable discharge for the military.

Lillie Annie Balusek

Lillie Annie Balusek, 92, of Moulton, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.   She was born on Aug. 15, 1930, in Lavaca County, to Joe and Hermina Trcalek Belicek.   She was baptized and confirmed in the Czech Moravian Brethren Church of Vsetin, where she has been a member for her whole life.
