St. Paul volleyball: Lady Cards rally to defeat Georgetown Grace in five sets

The St. Paul Lady Cardinals found themselves in a 2-0 hole after two matches in the season opener.First-year head coach Taylor Hudson made personnel changes and St. Paul rallied for a 22-25, 15-25, 25-21, 25-18, 15-12 win over Georgetown Grace Academy Aug. 11 at home.“I changed my lineup,” she said.

Brahma Booster Club tourney

The 3rd Annual Booster Club Four-man Scramble has three teams tied for first place.Preston Mackey, Clay Zavesky, Jake Grasshoff and Tyler Kurtz won first place on the fourth playoff hole.Members of the Brahma golf team – Canyon and Colt Zavesky and Eli and Liam Ferguson – finished third.

Coach Courtney Olbert had 32 players report for the first day of practice Monday morning.The Lady Brahmas were in the weight room in the morning and in the gym in the afternoon.Olbert has a good nucleus to work with, but are in a very good district.

The Indianettes began workouts Monday afternoon with 34 players.Coach Wanda Orsak begins her 36th year as head coach of the Indianettes and said “We had great enthusiasm. We have a lot of work to do and a lot of talent to work with. I'm excited about the season.
