The Yoakum Bulldogs are on the road for the second straight week and head up north to Cameron Yoe.
Yoakum is looking to even its season record after a close game at Industrial where it fell short 25-20.
Yoe won its opener, a 71-35 rout of Lago Vista.

St. Paul Volleyball: Lady Cards win first district contest

The Lady Cardinals did not play relaxed at the start of their district opener against Cedar Park Summit Christian Academy Thursday at home.
St. Paul did not stay that way the whole match and got the victory over CPCSA 3-0 (25-13, 25-6, 25-1).

Volleyball: Lady Comanches serve up sweep over St. Paul

The Lady Comanches serving was on point.
Shiner beat cross-town opponent St. Paul in three games, 25-12, 25-15, 25-25-16 on Aug. 30.
The Lady Comanches had 22 aces in the match.
“We had been working on serve-receive and we served very aggressively,” Lady Comanches head coach Desiree Nitsch said.

The Lady Cardinals volleyball dropped a three-set match at Flatonia Aug. 16 and played five matches in the San Marcos Hill Country Tournament Aug. 19 and 20, winning one, tying one and losing three.

St. Paul lost in three sets to Flatonia 25-19, 28-26, 25-14.

The Lady Comanches got third with 90 points.
Ramirez was Shiner’s top finisher with ninth place in 14:40. Burns was No. 11 in 14:49; Chrismon was No. 14 in 14:59; Pustka was No. 17 with a time of 15:06.

Hallettsville’s Damarion Austin’s 32-yard run with just 10 minutes left in the third quarter broke a 7-7 tie and was the difference in the Shiner Comanches falling a little short at Hallettsville, 14-7, to open the 2022 season.
