St. Paul Football: Flatonia 35, St. Paul 0

St. Paul  preferred a  better outcome in their season opener, but a season does not ride on the first game. The Flatonia Bulldogs muscled their way past St. Paul, through the air and the ground, and played solid defense in blanking the Cardinals 35-0 Friday night at Comanche Stadium.

Promising dove season predicted

If you're wondering if the heat has affected the doves, don't worry. Like most Texans, most doves are well-adapted to hot, dry conditions, particularly white-winged doves, and the season looks promising.

St. Paul volleyball: Cowgirls hand St. Paul 3-0 loss

As a lot of teams are doing less than three weeks into the new season, the St. Paul volleyball team is still under construction. The Lady Cardinals dropped a non-district match to Edna Cowgirls 26-24, 25-15, 25-9 Aug. 23 at St .Paul High School. St.

Shiner volleyball: Lady Comanches beat Edna, SH in non-district

The Lady Comanches won back-to-back non district games in a four-set win over Edna  Aug. 16 and over Sacred Heart at home on Aug. 23. Shiner 3, Edna 1 Julie Ivy and Rylee Vancura combined for 27 kills to lead Shiner to a 3-1 (25-19, 25-15, 16-25, 25-15) win on the road vs Edna Aug.16.

Football: Cards host Flatonia; Shiner at Hallettsville

The season kicks off for the Cardinals and Comanches football team. The Cardinals start out at home against Flatonia; Shiner heads to Hallettsville for the usual season opener for county rival Hallettsville. Flatonia at St.

Yoakum football: Bulldogs open at Industrial

The Yoakum Bulldogs kick off the 2022 season with a trip out to Industrial to face down the Cobras. The Cobras return 16 lettermen and seven starters from their 11-3 regional finalist 2021 team and are slated for a runner-up finish in 15-3AD).
