Lady Brahmas Championship Bound

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas advanced to the Conference 3A Championship after a narrow 4-3 win in eight innings over the Mount Vernon Lady Tigers Wednesday, June 1.   Hanna Zachary crossed the plate for Hallettsville’s game-winning run with an RBI from Kaylie Olivarez.

Shiner vs Mumford regional final series

The Shiner Comanches will play Mumford in a best-of-three regional final series. All games will be at La Grange HS Baseball Field. Game one will be tomorrow (June 1) at 7 p.m. Game 2 will be at 7 on Thursday (June 2) and Game 3, if needed, will be at 7 on Friday (June 3).

Anaya Robinson to attend St. Thomas University in Florida to compete in swimming

Texas State Senator recognizes Cardinal, Comanche state championships

Texas State Senator Lois W. Kolkhorst  came to Shiner at the end of April to present several Shiner and St. Paul sports team with proclamations recognizing their respective state championships.

Jocelyn Moreno to run next year at McMurry University

BY MARK LUBE/SPORTS EDITOR SHINERSPORTS@SBCGLOBAL.NET Shiner class of 2022 cross country and track athlete Jocelyn Moreno will continue to competitively run come a couple of months. Moreno recently signed with McMurry University in Abilene  to participate in both sports.

Shiner ISD softball camp June 6-8

The Shiner Lady Comanche Summer Softball Camp will be held June 6-8 at the high school softball field at Green Dickson Park. The camp is for players entering in grades 1-8. Incoming Grades 1-4 will have their session from 8:30-10:30 am. Players entering Grades 5-8 will go from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m.

Shiner baseball: Comanches down Thorndale in two games.

The Shiner Comanches scored nine total runs and gave up one run to sweep Thorndale (1-0, 8-1) in the regional-quarterfinal series Thursday and Friday at La Grange Baseball Field. Shiner will play Kenedy in the regional quarterfinals at Victoria Riverside Stadium.
