Peters appointed to new judicial court

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Columbus attorney and municipal judge Leonard Peters to serve as judge of the 492nd Judicial District Court. That served Colorado and Lavaca counties.

Peters’ appointment will become effective Sept. 1. He will serve through Dec. 31, 2028, or until a successor is elected and qualified.
