Evelyn Alexa Technik

Evelyn Alexa Technik, 91, of Moulton, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023.   She was born in the Moulton area on Feb. 14, 1932, to Julius J. and Annie Holub Drozd.    On Nov. 6, 1955,  she married Linhart J. Technik in Moravia.    She was a member of Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Moravia.

John David Perdziak Sr.

John David Perdziak Sr. was born in San Antonio on Nov. 7, 1965. He left this world entirely too soon  at age 57 on May 17, 2003. John graduated from Hallettsville High School in 1984 where he played football, got his nickname “Jeep” and made lifelong friendships.

Dorothy Marek

Dorothy Marie Marek, 80, of Shiner, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023. She was born January 24, 1943, in El Campo, to Justin Emil Mach and Mildred Katie Schulze Mach. She married Larry David Marek on November 2, 1973, in Victoria. She had been a member of the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church.

Tereso Valencia

Tereso Valencia, 85, of Shiner, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023. He was born November 19, 1937 in Cuitzeo, Michoacan, Mexico to Paciano and Maria Luisa Guerrero Valencia. Tereso married Maria Cruz on May 11, 1962. He was a member of the Asamblea Apostolica de la Fe en Cristo Jesus Church.

Irene Kutach of Hutto, Texas left this world a little richer, a little fuller, and a lot more hopeful than she found it.

Barbara Joann Smith Tise

Barbara Joann Smith Tise went to her heavenly home, rejoicing, on May 22, 2023. She loved the Lord and lived her life to let His light shine in her!   She was born Nov. 5, 1937, in Eagle Lake to Henry Bertice and Milly Matula Smith.

Dorothy Fajkus Jasek

Dorothy Fajkus Jasek, age 82, of Houston, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Julius Joseph Jasek Jr.; her parents, Joe Fajkus Jr. and Agnes Stryk Fajkus.

Evelyn Marie Opela

Evelyn Marie Opela, 92, of Shiner, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2023.  She was born Oct. 15, 1930 in Sweet Home to James and Mary (Cervenka) Pekar. Evelyn worked at Weingarten’s, and retired from Circle Y of Yoakum after 20 years of service.

Charles Henry Christ

Charles Henry Christ passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.   Charles was born on Oct. 16, 1935 in Hallettsville, and graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School where he was a member of the school’s first band.

Carletta Jean Taylor

Carletta Jean Taylor, 95, of Hallettsville,  joined her heavenly family, Thursday, May 18, 2023.  She was born Jan. 4, 1928 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Eugene and Loretta (Durney) Stanley. She met her beloved Charles Taylor and married Sept. 10, 1945 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
