Lady Brahmas thrash Palacios to open district

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas’ intensity on defense was too much for the Palacios Sharkettes. Hallettsville (14-3, 0-1) forced 29 Palacios turnovers in a 57-39 victory here in the District 28- AAA opener here Friday night.

Lady Brahms 54, Flatonia 48

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas defeated Flatonia, 54-48, with some effort here Tuesday, November 28. Flatonia had a 24- 19 halftime lead in the turnover-infested contest prior to the LB out-scoring the Lady Bulldogs 18-12 in the third quarter and 17-12 in the fourth.

LB 3rd in Schulenburg

SCHULENBURG – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas defeated East Bernard, 66-50, to win third place in the Schulenburg Tournament Saturday. The Lady Brahmas (13- 2) led 34-24 at the half and stretched the margin to 49-33 after three quarters.

Lady Brahmas bounce back

PORT LAVACA – Following a loss to Shiner on Monday, the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas defeated Port Lavaca Calhoun, 60-32, Tuesday, November 21. The LB (8-1) took control early with a 17-9 first quarter lead behind 8 points by post Macy Herring.

LB rule the roost in S-T tournament

Macy Herring was named the Most Valuable player as the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas went 6-0 to win the Skidmore-Tynan Tournament over the weekend. Kasey Harper and Layten Kolancy were named to the All-Tournament team. The LB defeated Jourdanton, 64-52 in the championship game.

LB Take Season-Ending Win

EL MATON – In a season where a lot of things went wrong and a lot of things didn’t go right, the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas wrapped up the season with a bang by defeating El Maton Tidehaven, 22-25, 25-18, 25-11, 25-10 in a district 25-AAA match Tuesday, October 24.
