Shiner girls basketball: Flatonia overruns LC 53-26 in district opener

With 24 points by Summer Sodek,  the Flatonia Lady ‘Dogs scorched Shiner Lady Comanches 53-26 in both team’s district opener Dec. 20 in Shiner. Allie Uzzell, Flatonia’s key inside player, contributed another 18 points.

Shiner volleyball: Shiner spikers awarded with All-State honors

Several members of the 2024 state semifinalist Lady Comanches volleyball team received various All-State awards.Junior Kylynn Ramirez was awarded State All-Tournament.Seniors Chesney Machacek and Morgan Lenehan each were awarded Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) All-State.

Shiner football: Shiner overcomes early deficit to beat Bremond in state semis

CYPRESS — It took every player and support personnel, and fan or other supporter to help the Shiner football team return to the state championship game.Shiner rallied to take down Region 3 champion Bremond 41-33 at Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union Stadium in Cypress on Thursday night.

The Shiner Comanches face off against the Bremond Tigers at 7 p.m. today at the FCU Stadium in Cypress in the Class 2ADII state semifinals.Shiner last played in the state semifinals in 2021.“It is definitely a great thing to still be playing at this time,” Comanches head coach Daniel Boedeker said.

Shiner, St. Paul girls basketball: Shiner girls defeat St. Paul 62-15 despite thin roster

The Shiner Lady Comanches only had six total players available for their varsity game at St. Paul.That fact did not seem to affect the Lady Comanches’ play.“We did pretty good for only having six players.

The state semifinalist Shiner Lady Comanches had two players win special awards to highlight 27-2A All-District awards.Senior Morgan Lenehan was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year and freshman Paisly Wallace was selected as Co-Newcomer of the Year.
