Shiner girls golf: LC golf get victory in Victoria

The Shiner girls golf team scored 402 points to win the Victoria Riverside Tournament on Feb. 21. The Lady Comanches squeezed out Industrial who had 409. Chelsea Whiddon scored a 92 for first-place medalist. Bri Sofka carded a 94 for third place.

Shiner boys basketball: Shiner’s youth shows in bi-district loss to Thorndale

GIDDINGS — Shiner’s inexperience, combined with Thorndale’s tenacity, resulted in a 69-32 win for the Bulldogs in the bi-district round Feb. 20 at Giddings High School. The Comanches fell behind early and were unable to significantly close the gap.

Shiner girls basketball: Lady Comanches fall a little short of historical berth

BUDA — Shiner’s return to the regional tournament for the first time since 2020 did not result in history being made but will still provide happy memories for the team and program. Shiner came up short to San Saba 66-58 in the first regional semifinal Friday evening at Buda Johnson High School.

Shiner baseball: Comanches opened at Hallettsville

Shiner baseball played their 2024 opener Monday night at Hallettsville with the Brahmas took a 9-3 win. Shiner just had one hit, an RBI single by Charlie Clifford in the first inning. Hallettsville allowed nine walks and hit three batters.

Shiner girls golf: Whiddon, Sofka place in top three as LC win Giddings Tournament

The Shiner Lady Comanches golf team won the Giddings Tournament on Feb. 12. The Lady Comanches had a team score of 400. Chelsea Whiddon was first individually and carded a 93. Bri Sofka had a 96 and was third place; Grace Migl scored a 99.  Callie Chrismon had a 112; Olivia Akin had a 119.
