St. Paul girls basketball: Lady Cardinals hold off Yoakum 44-39 on the road

YOAKUM — With a 41-39 lead with under two minutes to play Thursday at Yoakum, the Lady Cardinals made the plays for a win.St. Paul scored three points in the final 1:40 of the game to secure a 44-39 win, their first of the 2025-26 campaign.

Shiner football: Comanches to face Brackett in area round

The Shiner Comanches will face Brackett for the second year in a row in the area round at 7 p.m. Friday (tomorrow) at Eagle Stadium in Pleasanton.The Tigers come into the game at 6-4 and beat Burton 54-34 in the bi-district last week.Brackett is scoring 35.8 points a game and allowing 26.

Shiner volleyball: LC’s second straight trip to state semis ends in loss to Iola

ALTAIR — Shiner is headed to the state semifinals for the second year in a row after an intense regional finals match.The Lady Comanches made a way past the Burton Lady Panthers on Nov. 11 at Rice Consolidated High School in five sets, 26-24,23-25, 25-21, 14-25, 17-15.
