County implements burn ban

The Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court met Monday and voted to implement a burn ban for the county.Lavaca County Fire Chiefs Association liaison Tim Decker told the court the association goes off a Keetch Byram Drought Index (KBDI) average reading of 500 during the summer months.
At Monday’s Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court meeting, LCSO records clerk/school safety liaison Neely Yackel announced the school portion of the safety project goal has been completed. Yackel said the completion of the project was made possible following the most recent donations. Court tables JP replacement process/timeline

After hearing from Lavaca County Republican Party Pct. 208 chairman Paul Yamarick, the Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court voted to table the process and timeline for appointing a replacement of the Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 position at its Monday meeting.The process to replace the Pct.

Shiner youth presented Junior Life Saver Award

The Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court met in a regular meeting Monday morning and began the meeting presenting Wyatt Kaspar with a Junior Life Saver Award.

Court approves adding full time Grant Administrator position

The Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court met in a regular meeting Monday morning and approved the hiring of a full-time grant administrator position for the upcoming fiscal year.Chairman of the Court Advisory Council county attorney James Reeves presented an explanation for the need of the position.
Marvin and Cathy Boedeker of Boedeker Plastics were recognized at Monday’s Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court meeting. The Boedekers donated to the School Safety Project, which was mandated, but not funded by the Texas State Legislature. The donation goes toward purchasing required safety equipment for all the schools in Lavaca County. Court acknowledges Boedeker Plastics, Don Kaspar donation

At Monday’s Lavaca County Commissioners’s Court meeting, the court recognized and acknowledged Marvin and Cathy Boedeker of Boedeker’s Plastic of Shiner, and the Don Kaspar Foundation for their donations to the Lavaca County Strong Schools Safety Initiative.

Captain Schultz Honored At Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court Meeting

The Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court held its regular meeting on Wednesday, May 27 and recognized Lavaca County Captain John Schultz for his assistance with the Fayette County EMS.
