Shiner graduate and Stephen F. Austin junior Drew Wenske saw action on the mound for several games for the Lumberjacks in the 2026 season.His first action came on Feb. 14 in the third game of a three-game series against Mississippi Valley State.

Brahma Booster Club tourney

The 3rd Annual Booster Club Four-man Scramble has three teams tied for first place.Preston Mackey, Clay Zavesky, Jake Grasshoff and Tyler Kurtz won first place on the fourth playoff hole.Members of the Brahma golf team – Canyon and Colt Zavesky and Eli and Liam Ferguson – finished third.

Lady Brahmas

Coach Courtney Olbert had 32 players report for the first day of practice Monday morning.The Lady Brahmas were in the weight room in the morning and in the gym in the afternoon.Olbert has a good nucleus to work with, but are in a very good district.

The Indianettes began workouts Monday afternoon with 34 players.Coach Wanda Orsak begins her 36th year as head coach of the Indianettes and said “We had great enthusiasm. We have a lot of work to do and a lot of talent to work with. I'm excited about the season.

Indians begin practice

Sacred Heart began practice with 26 players Monday morning, two less than last year,Head coach Rodney Dowell will have to replace linemen with Tatum Beach and Brennon Ralston returning.Linebackers Wyatt Matura and Arlen Henke are mainstays on defense.The first day went really well.

Brahmas have 63 attend first practice

The numbers for the Brahmas’ first practice was 63, a little lower than last year.“I feel optimistic about the first day,” Brahma head coach Levi Montgomery said. “You can tell a lot of work that the kids did over the summer paid dividends.
