Lady Brahmas rout Edna, Yoakum

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas continued their run through District 25- AAA with two more victories last week.Run-rule games were prevalent for the Lady Brahmas in the victories over Yoakum (22-3) and Edna (10-0) last week.

LB lose first game before coming back to win tournament

WEIMAR – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas finished the Weimar Tournament with an 8-0 victory over the host Lady Cats Saturday night to win the championship to move to 16-2 on the season.Kaylie Olivarez (7-1) blanked Weimar with a one-hitter.

GERONIMO – In the playoffs there are no doovers in the basketball playoffs. The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas let one get away in losing to San Antonio Cole, 56-53, in overtime in the Region IV-3A quarterfinals at Navarro High School Tuesday, Feb. 20.

Lady Brahmas win Wimberley

WIMBERLEY – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas lapped the field in the Wimberley Tournament over the weekend in going 4-0. The LB (11-1) defeated Weimar, 8-5, Saturday in five innings in a game where the time limit caught up with the teams.

Hallettsville won its home opener easily with an 11-1, five-inning victory over Smithville here Monday evening. Kaylie Olivarez (4-0) gave up one hit and recorded 11 strikeouts. The only Lady Tiger run was unearned. The LB led 2-0 before a 9-run third inning.

LB advance to regional quarters; tie school record for most wins in a season

GERONIMO – After two impressive opening round wins, the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas’ playoff run going to get harder. The Lady Brahmas had no trouble in a 55- 32 area round victory at Navarro High School Friday night and they played district champion San Antonio Cole Tuesday.

Lady Brahmas earn top seed in District 25-AAA

ALTAIR – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas had to hold off a late rally by Edna to take a 53-46 victory over the Cowgirls in the playoff for the top seed in District 25-AAA at Rice Consolidated High School Friday night.
