The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas were swept at home by Yoakum Friday afternoon, 15, 18, 18 in a District 25-AAA match Friday evening.The only highlight in the match was Alaina Halata reaching a milestone with her 1,000th career assist.Kasey Harper had eight kills in defeat.

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas swept Palacios 25-20,25-17, 25-23 here Tuesday, Sept. 24.The Lady Brahmas trailed 18-12 in the first set before finishing with a 13-2 run to win the set, 25-20.The LB had the serving blues in the first set with five errors and 8 hitting errors.

ALTAIR –The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas recorded their first victory in District 25-AAA play by defeating Rice Consolidated 19-25, 25-19, 25- 15, 25-23 Friday evening.Highlights were 17 kills by Kasey Harper, 17 digs by Hanna Zachary and 36 assists by Alaina Halata.

LB sweeps Kitty Cats, 3-0

Hallettsville moved to 12-14 on the season after its 3-0 sweep of Yorktown (25-22,25-15, 25-21) here Friday evening.The LB had a 12-5 lead in the first set before the Kitty Cats went on a 10-2 run to take a 15-14 lead.

Lady Brahmas drop season opener

Stockdale’s outside hitter LeAnn Wise almost single handily defeated the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas to spoil Courtney Olbert’s coaching debut here Tuesday, Aug. 13.Wise had 22 kills in the 25-23, 25-21, 25-21 victory in the season opener for both teams.The LB gave up 12 points on service errors.

After two scrimmages, head coach Courtney Olbert feels the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas are ready to open the season.“I saw some good things in both scrimmages,” Olbert said. “The girls have adapted well to the new offense.

New Lady Brahma volleyball coach Courtney Olbert had 43 players report to the first practice Monday.Olbert will be trying to resurrect a program that has had two losing seasons in a row and also missed the playoffs during that span.“Being new, getting to know the kids is huge,” Olbert said.
