The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas’ District 25-AAA win streak was snapped at two with a 59-46 loss to Edna on the Cowgirls’ home court Tuesday, Dec. 17.Poor shooting and 30 turnovers hindered Hallettsville’s chances of winning.The LB shot 26.2% from the field and were 7 of 19 from the free throw line.

Lady Brahmas open district with two wins

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas opened defense of their District 25-AAA championship with two wins, the biggest in Yoakum Friday.Alaina Halata and Destiny Garza scored 10 points apiece to lead the Lady Brahmas to a 38-24 victory in a low-scoring affair.

LB salvage a win in La Grange

Shiner edges Lady Brahmas, 36-35

SHINER – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas had a chance to beat Shiner, but missed a shot at the buzzer in dropping a 36-35 decision to the Lady Comanches Monday, Nov. 25.Two free throws by Shiner’s Morgan Lenehan was the difference and gave the Lady Comanches a 36-33 lead.

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas put away Gonzales, 49-38, with a strong second half here Tuesday, Nov. 12.The teams were tied at 24-all at the big break before Hallettsville scored nine unanswered points to begin the third quarter with Kasey Harper scoring four of them and never looked back.

LB drop season finale

YOAKUM – Hallettsville took a set from Yoakum before succumbing 3-1 in the Lady Brahmas season finale Tuesday, Oct. 29.Yoakum will represent District 25-AAA as the third place team, while Hallettsville ended its season 16-25 and 4-10.

LB snap losing streak

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas broke a fivematch losing streak by defeating Altair Rice Consolidated here Tuesday, Oct. 15. The LB also beat Palacios on the road Friday.The Lady Brahmas beat Rice Consolidated 25-20, 28-26, 25-22.
