Shiner girls basketball: Lady Comanches beat Granger with second-half comeback

SMITHVILLE — The Lady Comanches had a not-so-good first half and they recognized it. Shiner took on Granger in the bi-district round Feb. 14 at Smithville and trailed 20-13 at halftime before coming back with a 26-15 rally in the second half to win 39-35 to advance to the second round.

Shiner boys basketball: Comanches edge Weimar 52-51

Carson Schuette drained four tres and scored 18 points to lead Shiner to a 52-51 win against Weimar Feb. 14 to cap the regular season. Ryan Peterson dropped down 14 points and three triples; Drew Wenske netted 11 points. and was 6-of-8 from the free-throw line.

The St. Ludmila girls basketball teams recently completed their season. B Team The B team posted a 6-1 record in DVAL play; they won first place in the Schulenburg Tournament and gained third at the Yoakum ISD Tournament.

St. Paul girls basketball: Lady Cougars edge St. Paul 58-54 in first round

St. Paul’s bi-district game against Conroe Covenant Christian turned out to be the typical game for the Lady Cardinals this season. Plenty of valleys and mountains during the game. Covenant Christian held the lead for the first half and a little bit into the third quarter before St.

St. Paul boys basketball: St. Paul concludes season with loss to Pflugerville Concordia

Eliminated from playoff contention in the loss at Sacred Heart Feb. 3, St. Paul boys wanted to give a good sendoff to the eight seniors. That did not occur as St. Paul fell to Pflugerville Concordia 53-43 Feb. 7 at home in a postponed game. St.

St. Paul girls basketball: St. Paul wins rescheduled game against Pflugerville Concorida

The Lady Cardinals had a little mixture of okay and not so okay in their last regular-season game. St. Paul defeated Pflugerville Concordia 46-25 Feb. 7 in a rescheduled game to conclude the regular season. “It’s kinda how we are,” Lady Cardinals head coach Jake Wachsmuth said.
