The Cardinals baseball was unable to get the offense going at Sacred Heart on Friday.The Indians limited the Cardinals to one hit and no runs in a 6-0 win.Sacred Heart scored two runs in the first inning, three in the second and scored once in the fifth box.Ezekiel Rodriguez got the hit for St.

Shiner baseball: Comanches beat FHS in 10-inning pitcher duel

The Shiner Comanches grinded  out a 1-0 win in 10 innings over Flatonia Saturday evening in Green-Dickson Park.The game was postponed from the previous day due to weather and field conditions.

St. Paul girls and boys golf: SP girls, boys golf win district titles

The St. Paul girls and boys golf teams each claimed the TAPPS 2A-3 championship Monday at Victoria’s Riverside Golf Course.Both teams will compete at regionals today at Waco’s Cottonwood Creek.GirlsThe St. Paul Lady Cardinals golf team claimed the TAPPS 2A-3 championship with a team score of 393.

Shiner track and field: Shiner boys track capture district championship

The Shiner varsity boys track team earned the 28-2A team title and the Lady Comanches varsity came in runner up at the district meet Thursday and Saturday in Ganado.Top four in each varsity event advance to the area meet next Thursday in Flatonia.

Youth sports: Sweet Digs 15U volleyball team earns runner up in March Madness tournament in Buda

Youth sports: Lonestar 14U softball team wins second in St. Patrick Day’s Tournament in New Braunfels

The Lonestar Legends 14U softball team made the trip to New Braunfels to play in the P4S Sandlot St. Patrick’s Day Tournament.  The tournament was the Legends debut tournament and they came out strong with a second place finish.

Shiner girls basketball: Shiner girls hoops win more awards

The Lady Comanches basketball team had several players earn more postseason awards.Winning Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State are Callie Sevcik (First Team), Kailey Boedeker (Secondt Team), JaMya Wright (Second Team) and Morgan Lenehan (Honorable Mention).
