Flyers eke out 14-13 victory over Indians

A missed extra point was the difference in the Sacred Heart Indians’ 14- 13 loss here Friday night to Victoria St. Joseph.The Indians (2-2) had a chance to go ahead in the fourth quarter before giving up the ball on the Flyer 25-yard line with 4:57 to play.

Indians come back from 13-point deficit edge Flatonia, 21-20

FLATONIA–Trailing 20-7 at halftime, the Sacred Heart Indians looked lost at sea.But the Indians showed a lot of grit and determination and rallied to take a 21-20 victory over Flatonia at Bulldog Stadium Friday night.

Tribe to be tested by Schulenburg

Sacred Heart will be tested by the Schulenburg Shorthorns in its season opener in Schulenburg Friday evening. Kickoff time is 7:30 a Shorthorn Stadium.Schulenburg will be dedicating its field to coaching legend David Husmann, who was the father-in-law of Indian coach Alex Seydler.

Area schools report first day enrollment

The school term for 2024-25 began during the past two weeks with area schools, Sacred Heart Catholic School and Hallettsville, Ezzell and Vysehrad ISDs, reporting their first day enrollment numbers.At SHCS, classes began on Thursday, Aug.

Tribe goes on the road for 1st scrimmage

Sacred Heart visits Pettus in its first scrimmage Thursday starting at 6 p.m.Pettus, a 2A, Division II school, is unfortunately in a district with Shiner and Falls City. The other schools are Yorktown, Louise and Charlotte.The War Eagles made the playoffs last season.

Indians' numbers up

Sacred Heart head coach Alex Seydler had 39 players attend the first practice Monday morning, 15 more than last year.“We had a great couple of days of practice so far.” Seydler said. “I’m excited to get things rolling.“I am totally pumped that we had such a great turnout.
